Herman Lloyd Named COMTO Executive of the Year

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Herman W. Lloyd, JMT’s Philadelphia office manager, has been honored as the 2015 Executive of the Year by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) during its 44th National Meeting and Training Conference in Boston. The award recognizes transportation policy makers and executives responsible for the direction and operation of their organization.
In addition to serving JMT's growing Philadelphia operations and being very instrumental in growing JMT's Construction Management and Inspection operations in the Greater Philadelphia area, Mr. Lloyd also serves on JMT’s Board of Directors and the Professional Development Committee. Mr. Lloyd is an industry advocate for advancement and creating a level playing field for women and minorities.
He also encourages JMT’s collaboration with COMTO to recruit students from Philadelphia public high schools to participate in its Garrett A. Morgan Technology and Transportation Education Program, which aims to prepare women and minority students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As a leader in construction engineering in the transportation industry, JMT recognizes the vital role the School District of Philadelphia plays in facilitating interest in the field of transportation, and ultimately supplying the skilled employees needed for the future transportation workforce.
Mr. Lloyd currently also serves on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Chapter of COMTO, and is the Chairman of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Division of the March of Dimes Transportation, Building & Construction Luncheon Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Board of PenTRANS (Pennsylvanians for Transportation Solutions), and is a member of the Advisory Board of WTS, the advocacy organization for advancing women in transportation. His prior association leadership includes service as President and a Member of the Board of Directors for the Delaware Valley Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers.
