After four years of planning, fundraising, design, and construction, US Lacrosse celebrated its grand opening weekend earlier this month with a donor’s reception, open house tours of the museum and gallery, 9-11 memorial ceremony, and six games.

The new headquarters in Sparks, MD, designed by Rubeling & Associates, a JMT Division, sits on 10 acres and includes a regulation-size turf field, promenade, seating for 475 people, and a 9-11 memorial. The three-level, 40,000-square-foot structure hosts office and meeting space for the US Lacrosse staff, the Crum Family Education and Training Center, National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, locker rooms for game contestants, and a MedStar sports health clinic. At the opening ceremony, Alicia Groveston, Head Coach for Grand Valley State, one of the girls’ teams competing during the weekend’s six scheduled games, called the new headquarters “A home worthy of our sport.”
