A large solar farm array is planned for implementation in Florida. Portions of the proposed solar farm are located within the Special Flood Hazard Area. JMT is assisting the client with energy environmental consulting services, including the modification of the affected Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) panels via an MT-2 application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Tasks in this process include review of the current SWMM 5 model parameterization and floodplain delineations and comparison of current HCSWMM5 model information with the effective Hillsborough County SWMM 4 modeling. A review of existing survey information and the proposed construction plans will be utilized to update, as necessary, the current SWMM 5 modeling to prepare revised existing and proposed conditions models for use in application for a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR). Identification and delineation of the proposed floodplain boundary, including tie-ins to the effective floodplain and significant coordination with FEMA, Hillsborough County, and the client are some of the additional tasks included as we make progress towards the goal of obtaining a Letter of Final Determination from FEMA.
