Community and regional planning is a unique field that requires knowledgeable, experienced professionals in a variety of disciplines collaborating throughout a planning process. We utilize planning processes that facilitate consensus building, resulting in successful delivery of implementable plans and projects that meet both current and future needs of a broad range of community stakeholders. JMT’s certified planners are experienced at applying sound planning principles to meet state and local planning requirements and project development criteria for a wide range of community and regional projects.

Our multi-disciplined project teams are led by certified planners who assist clients to develop sustainable plans and projects using a variety of tools and techniques. Our teams routinely incorporate strategic planning elements within traditional comprehensive plans, integrate smart growth with smart transportation solutions, conduct sustainability assessments, develop form-based and performance-based codes (smart codes), and establish “green design” standards for public space, conservation-by-design standards for development, and incentives for buildings and infill development.

At JMT, we are proud of our planning philosophy, which integrates engaging public involvement and outreach programs with technical study and analysis. Additionally, we apply the appropriate state-of-the-art software, web-based tools, and other equipment to enhance the planning and public involvement/outreach process.
