Energy-Smart Renovation: JMT’s HVAC Overhaul
JMT has undertaken a significant project to upgrade the mechanical, electrical, and architectural systems within the 90,000-square-foot DX and DY Concourse at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. This comprehensive renovation focuses on enhancing the HVAC systems to improve energy efficiency and operational performance.

Powering Efficiency: JMT’s Energy-Saving Designs for BWI Modernization Project
JMT delivered innovative building performance and efficiency engineering for 50,000 SF of terminal expansion and upgrades, with a strong focus on building performance, efficiency and reliability. The design feature energy efficient HVAC and lighting systems and accentuated the user experience.

real-time utility line location and mapping services
JMT scans the construction as it is being performed. They migrate the data to the cloud (ArcGIS Online or Autodesk Cloud Connector). They use a mobile device paired with mapping/survey-grade GPS, aim the tablet at desired location to display utility and ROW data in view frame and generate GPS accuracy available within view frame. They use Trimble DA2/Catalyst GPS with satellite-based connectivity that works in remote areas with limited or no cellular service. The iPad with LIDAR Sensor paired with mapping/survey GPS collects a 3D LIDAR scan of the work area before and after the work is completed. They process the LIDAR scans into GIS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation and then overlay scans on as-builts to update them.

Restoring Nature: JMT’s Ecological Impact at Eccleston Property
JMT is leading a privately funded, turn-key mitigation project to restore wetlands and streams—generating ~10,604 stream and ~14.5 wetland credits. We handled design, permitting, contractor procurement, and construction oversight.

energy optimization in water and wastewater treatment processes
JMT conducted a on-site energy audit and base line analysis to produce an energy management plan that provides a framework to implement short and long-term energy optimization opportunities. This was a critical first step in establishing a energy management program aimed at reducing energy and increasing alternative energy usage while simultaneously enhancing system resiliency. The JMT Team developed a strategy for procuring natural gas and electricity under an arrangement that benefited the client’s consumption profile. Our Team provided recommendations that included energy demand reductions, production of alternatives, and purchase of renewable energy to mitigate potential environmental and public health consequences while insulating the community and customers from energy rate volatility.

powering performance, safety, and sustainability
JMT’s multidisciplinary team provides mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), telecommunications, security, and fire protection engineering services—along with construction administration and commissioning—for clients across the United States. We deliver integrated solutions for both new construction and complex retrofits, with specialized experience in central utility plants, science laboratories, data centers, and transportation facilities such as airports, rail terminals, and vehicle maintenance campuses. Whether you’re upgrading aging infrastructure or planning a new facility, we bring the technical depth and project insight to ensure your systems are efficient, resilient, and future-ready.
