As we conclude an inspiring celebration of Employee Ownership Month, JMT is proud to announce that the firm has advanced to #41 on the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) Employee Ownership 100 list of America’s Largest Majority Employee-Owned Companies.

This achievement marks a notable rise from JMT’s #55 ranking in 2024 and #62 ranking in 2023, underscoring the company’s continued growth and enduring commitment to the principles of employee ownership.

The NCEO’s 2025 Employee Ownership 100 recognizes the largest broad-based employee-owned companies in the United States. To qualify, organizations must be at least 50% employee-owned, with most companies on the list being 100% employee-owned.

For context, there are approximately 6,500 Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) nationwide, spanning diverse industries such as retail, manufacturing, architecture, and engineering. Collectively, the broad-based ESOPs represented on The Employee Ownership 100 list employ more than 655,000 people across the country.

JMT has been proud to be an employee-owned company since 1999, celebrating 26 years of employee ownership in 2025. This longstanding commitment reflects the firm’s belief that shared ownership fosters accountability, collaboration, and mutual success.

In addition to the company’s strong showing on the NCEO Top 100 list, JMT is also recognized as:

  • #50 among ENR Top 500 Design Firms
  • #9 among the largest employee-owned architecture and engineering firms in the U.S.

These achievements highlight JMT’s dedication to empowering its employee-owners and sustaining a culture where every team member contributes to, and benefits from, the company’s shared success.
