Dan Cheng Honored for Advocacy of Minority Participation

The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Maryland honored JMT’s Daniel Cheng, PE with the organization’s Transportation Leadership Award, at a ceremony during the organization’s annual economic development and transportation leadership event.
COMTO strives to ensure opportunities and maximum participation in the transportation industry for minority individuals, businesses, and communities of color, through advocacy, training, and professional development.
For decades, Mr. Cheng has been instrumental in providing such opportunities, through direct participation in COMTO and as an executive with JMT, and indirectly as a prominent member of the Maryland Quality Initiative, American Council of Engineering Companies/Maryland, Maryland Section of American Society of Civil Engineers, and other professional groups.
COMTO Maryland noted about Mr. Cheng in its congratulatory message, “Without his support in ways both known and unknown, we would not be able to continue our efforts to support the Scholarship Program, grow the organization, and continue our mission to provide a level playing field within the transportation industry.”
