JMT recently attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new direct current fast charging (DCFC) station for electric vehicles at the Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) in Middletown, PA. The ribbon cutting was part of the airport’s celebration of Earth Week.

The development of the charging station was part of HIA’s new snow removal equipment building project, for which JMT provided construction management services.  The project team used conduit, which initially provided temporary power to the building site, to carry power cables to the charging station located in the cell phone parking lot at the airport.

HIA worked with Blink Network to install, operate, and manage the charging station. Blink was recently awarded a PA Alternative Fuel Incentive grant to install electric car charging stations throughout Pennsylvania. This station is strategically located midway between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
