District of Columbia officials recently celebrated a major milestone on the 11th Street Bridge Project, the District’s largest construction project to date, by holding a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the new river crossing freeway bridges.  These bridges are part of a $260 million improvement project that will provide, for the first time, a seamless connection between the Southeast-Southwest Freeway and the Anacostia Freeway near the U.S. Capitol.

Project representatives from JMT joined DC Mayor Vincent Gray and other elected officials, as well as our design-build contracting partners from Skanska-Facchina, to commemorate the completion of the first phase.

The entire project is expected to open by the summer of 2015 and will include lanes for local and through traffic, a shared pedestrian/bicycle pathway, and space for future transit considerations.
