We’re proud to announce JMT has been accepted as a member of the Maryland Green Registry. As a member, JMT is listed on the registry’s website as a company that is committed to reducing our environmental impact.

Over the course of several years, JMT has taken multiple steps to promote sustainable business practices within our organization.

A Sustainability and Innovative Solutions Committee, consisting of representatives from the Board of Directors, Project Managers, and staff from numerous offices, encourage employees to lessen their eco footprint while also working to expand our sustainable services. As an engineering and architectural firm, JMT aims to provide our clients with green solutions to best meet their needs. This ranges from stormwater quality management, sediment control, and stream restoration to park and bicycle facilities, rail and transit projects, and water treatment facilities.

JMT is also active in many environmental stewardship and community service projects. Our dedicated employees have participated in Blue Water Baltimore’s Project Clean Stream since 2011. In 2014, a team cleaned 3.2 acres of land surrounding a stream, collecting 20 bags of trash and recyclables. This resulted in approximately 500 pounds of trash removed from our waterways.  JMT also participates in Maryland State Highway Administration’s Adopt-a-Highway program. In 2013, we became involved with watershed organization the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy.  Volunteers planted trees in the grounds surrounding Loch Raven Reservoir, and also participated in a fall stream cleanup. Outside of Maryland, many of our offices participate in similar environmental stewardship activities, such as highway cleanups, beach cleanups, dune grass plantings, and environmental education and outreach programs for children.
