JMT shared in the award earned recently by the client/contractor/design team for North Gayton Road, a design-build project in Henrico County.  The project won the 2014 American Public Works Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s Project of the Year Award under the “Transportation Projects $25 million – $75 million” category, presented at the 2014 annual conference in Newport News, Virginia.

As a subconsultant, JMT performed construction management services for a new major collector facility undertaken as the first locally funded, locally administered non-VDOT design-build project through Virginia’s Public-Private Transportation Act (PPTA). Our staff provided independent inspection during the construction of 2.2 miles of six-lane and four-lane roadway on new alignment, along with bridges, drainage structures, retaining walls, and related features.

Overall, APWA received more than 60 award submittals, leading to the conference honoring the award winners and honorable mentions in a number of categories.

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of APWA honors owners, contractors, designers, and other participants through its annual awards program. APWA also provides public works education, networking, advocacy and stewardship.
