Palmyra Area School District Opens New Athletic Complex
Palmyra Area School District in Lebanon County, PA safely held a socially distanced outdoor Sponsor/Donor Appreciation Night on Sept. 12, 2020 to celebrate the recent completion of their new high school athletic complex. The complex is now open and being used for high school sporting events. JMT led the design and provided construction administration services for the project. JMT was recognized at this event and received high commendations on the complex. One school board member commented, “The renderings of the plans do not do justice to this facility. This project has transformed the look and feel of the entire high school campus.” Another commented, “This is the nicest sports complex in Central PA!”
The project included the design of two new multi-purpose synthetic turf fields for baseball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, and football, a new natural grass softball field, new LED sports field lighting, stormwater management (under the field surface), a new ticket booth structure, new concession/restroom/storage building, grandstands, sound systems, and scoreboards. The JMT team completed the surveying, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for the project. We also partnered with a local architect and structural engineer. The team delivered a safe and successful project including change orders totaling 0.25% due to three sinkholes occurring during construction.
