Consolidated Rental Car Agency Complex

The Consolidated Rental Car Agency (ConRAC) is a specialized facility designed to consolidate multiple rental car operations into a single facility. The ConRAC consists of a ready/return building, a quick turnaround area, a service yard, and a remote storage lot with a vehicle maintenance building.

The ready/return car facility has three levels of proprietary area for each rent-a-car company to use. A vertical circulation core allows customers access to all the rental car services. The quick turnaround has vehicle preparation stations for fueling, cleaning, and processing vehicles for a quick return process, and the vehicle maintenance building has 12 vehicle maintenance bays.

JMT provided construction management services including review and negotiation of change orders, utilizing electronic project management software, and the coordination of contractor activities. JMT held and coordinated the stakeholder meetings with the FAA, the City of El Paso, the airport, and car rental agencies. The project also demanded that JMT apply its expertise in Texas Commission and Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements, Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS), and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).

Overall, JMT has completed a wide range of projects for El Paso International Airport including terminal expansion and renovations, passenger boarding bridges, a checked baggage inspection system, terminal lighting and landscape improvements, multiple taxiway reconstructions and a unique entryway landmark aesthetic feature on adjacent Interstate 10.
