Middletown Yard Maintenance Facility

JMT provided comprehensive architectural, engineering, design, and construction inspection services for a new Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) maintenance facility. The project featured a 7,000 SF operations building including specialty equipment and interior finishes, new underground utilities, a roadway extension, and new parking lots.

The project contract documents featured both DelDOT and AIA specifications and coordination with concurrent work being completed by others, including the construction of truck and mower sheds, a salt barn, maintenance shop, and site septic system to support overall project development.

The facility is heated and cooled by an energy-efficient geothermal heat pump system and building automation energy management controls. The site features various stormwater best management practices including bioretention facilities, a rain garden, and pervious pavement.
