The opening of a one-mile extension of Owings Mills Boulevard helps to join residents and businesses more closely.  This extension has been part of Baltimore County’s master plan for nearly three decades.

The new four-lane roadway is an integral component in connecting communities within the County’s northwestern section.  It allows for easier access to area commercial, industrial, and educational centers.  A dedicated path makes the project both safer and more accessible for bicyclists, and the extensive landscaping includes more than 2,800 trees and bushes.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony held on August 6, 2012, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz hailed the project for its context sensitivity as well as for improved connectivity and safety.

JMT provided all engineering and landscape architectural services to complete the design and contract documents, and assisted the client with bid phase and construction phase services.
