JMT was recently honored for our work on the Owings Mills Boulevard South Extension with an Award of Merit-Large Project category at the County Engineers Association of Maryland (CEAM) 2013 Fall Conference in Ocean City.

JMT designed 1.2 miles of the roadway extension (Phase I), which goes through an existing residential community, supporting traffic between commercial and retail areas as well as a commuter rail station. The design includes more than 2,800 new trees, shrubs and other plantings as well as a multi-use bicycle path. Decorative inlays on crosswalks were also installed, and bridge treatments were made aesthetically pleasing with textured and colored screen walls adjacent to homes.

The project previously was recognized with an Honor Award from ACEC/Maryland and a Modal Award for Projects over $5 Million from the Maryland Quality Initiative.
