Baltimore Heliport Facility

JMT provided construction administration, planning, and design services for the first public use heliport in Maryland.

JMT provided comprehensive planning and engineering services for the first public use heliport in Maryland. This trailblazing project supports a first-of-its-kind facility in Baltimore.

The facility operates and has space for simultaneous operation of up to six Sikorsky S-76 helicopters and fueling facilities. The heliport is strategically located near the heart of the city and provides easy access and refueling facilities for private, news, police, and medivac helicopters.

JMT assisted the heliport in becoming eligible for grant funding and completed development of a comprehensive airport layout plan, development of emergency and operations manuals, design of pavement rehabilitation projects, and hangar development efforts.

JMT completed construction administration services in support of the first set of projects in the five-year capital improvement program, including a comprehensive structural rehabilitation of the pier, a lighting system, and various other safety improvements. JMT also completed design and permitting related to the second year of improvements, including demolition of the old pier structure below the existing deck and planned a new multi-use terminal and administrative building complex.
