Bell Branch Park Turf Field

JMT’s construction management and inspection staff oversaw the construction of a new synthetic turf field at Bell Branch Park, a family-friendly park with multiple fields, paved trails, and picnic area. The project included:
• construction of synthetic turf fields with concrete curb and fencing
• segmental block retaining walls and stairs
• storm drainage structures and piping, and sediment and erosion control measures
• asphalt and concrete pavements
• athletic field lighting and electrical system connection from the existing comfort station
• installation of aluminum bleachers
The JMT team performed tasks, including:
• observed materials furnished as well as the progress and quality of work performed
• assured compliance with contract requirements
• performed constructability reviews and provided reports to the client
• reviewed progress schedules, scheduling of shop drawing submittals, and schedule of values by the contractor
• attended project meetings and prepared/distributed minutes
• conducted contract document review meetings with the contractor’s representative
• verified all equipment was operated and maintained appropriately
The new well-drained, synthetic turf fields give residents a durable playing surface that is useable for more months each year.
