B&O Museum Warehouse Renovation
The Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) Railroad Museum owned a warehouse in need of significant renovation to restore its exterior features. JMT provided construction inspection services for the fabrication and installation of new doors, gates, and window & components; furnishing and installation of new mechanical louvers; historical masonry rehabilitation including rebuilding, repointing, and masonry cleaning; installation of new wood structure, beams, decking, and grating above alleyway; and repair of existing and fabrication of new cornice components.
JMT provided an inspector who:
thoroughly monitored and inspected all work performed during the contract
ensured that daily reports, test procedures & results, change orders, product submittals, RFIs, and records documentation were maintained
conducted bi-weekly progress meetings with Baltimore City officials, owner’s representative, contractors, and A/E firm representatives
prepared daily site reports and ensured the contractor performed work according to contract requirements
took daily progress photos and special condition photos to document the actual field conditions & activities; track manpower and equipment use daily
reviewed and processed contractor monthly payment requests; reviewed certified payroll; conducted MBE/DBE compliance field meetings; and ensured MBE/DBE compliance.
The warehouse renovation was successfully completed, restoring the features to highlight their aesthetic appeal.
