The Outlet Road Bridge, a 33-foot-long bridge with a weathering steel superstructure located in the Town of Ballston, was continuously damp due to site conditions. This resulted in excessive, premature rust formation.

JMT (as Spectra Environmental) provided engineering design services for the rehabilitation of this structure. Work included the installation of a new precast, pre-compressed concrete/steel composite superstructure.

The new superstructure girders were hot dip galvanized, which extends the service life of the bridge, as compared to utilizing weathering steel as a protective coating.
